Culture Wars, August 2000
Effective direction... Neat spotlighting and movement which is almost choreographed gives the production a filmic, slick feel. It makes the show more adventurous on the back of firm directorial footing.
This is a superb, breathtaking production of one of Mamet's finest plays. The Benet Catty theatre group perfectly captures the violence and darkness of New York's underworld and the characters' isolation from one another as they pass through it.
A disturbing play.
Forget American Psycho. For a portrait of one man's descent into madness and depravity go to see Edmond.
Institute of Ideas (Culture Wars)
An absorbing and memorable, gripping and cutting-edge production… This dark play about one man's descent into a city's underbelly is powerfully illustrated by a capable young cast… If you're looking for a Mamet fix this year, make sure you pick this production.
This is a very well crafted production… some very slick choreography… an excellent mock fight [which is] very cleverly done and is assisted by a great soundtrack. A strong production.
